Job Description

My client is a major, instantly recognizable retailer with an increasing international presence. They are seeking a new Commercial Finance Analyst to join them in their Head Office (London).

The successful individual will work very closely with both the sourcing team and with colleagues overseas, performing commercial and financial analysis in order to inform and drive the business’ sourcing strategy. You will be responsible for supporting commercial decisions in order to maximise financial returns, assessing the impact of external factors which affect buying margins.

This is a highly analytical role. Key tasks will include the following: providing insight, analysis and management information to support both central and global sourcing offices, review of supplier financial performance, monthly cost analysis, supporting product costing model, assessing external factors (Exchange rates, raw material prices and labour rates) and reporting on their impact on buying margin.

This position is suited to a bright individual with an analytical mind set and strong numerical skills. Ideally, the successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant. However, relevant experience in an analytical role and a degree in a numerical subject (mathematics, accounting, finance, economics, etc) would also be suitable. The successful candidate must have advanced knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
