I am recruiting on behalf of an instantly recognizable FMCG company who have experienced significant growth in the past five years. Due to an internal promotion, they are now in search of a new Financial Planning Manager to join their head office FP&A team. This is a senior role that will report in directly to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and entail line management of two direct reports (Planning Analysts).
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for three quarterly forecast processes, the entire corporate Budget process and 5 year strategic plan. They will also be a key player in the monthly management accounts process and act as the primary business partner to the HR and IT functions.
This is a key role within the financial planning team, whereby the successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships at a senior level within the business whilst using their expertise to influence key decision making. You will be managing the 5 Year Forecast, Quarterly Forecasting and Annual Budget processes as well as providing ad hoc support and analysis to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and the Finance Director. You will also play a key role in co-ordinating the month end process where you will influence key decisions on the P&L. Business Partnering is a key aspect of the role, particularly with the HR and IT functions of the business.
Key tasks and accountabilities will include the following: ownership of the budget and quarterly forecasts (including challenging individual functional budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities and actively seeking solutions to issues), supporting preparation of key presentations delivered by CEO and FD to shareholders, management of the 5 year plan model (including reviewing and challenging inputs and providing analysis on future projections), managing and developing two Planning Analysts and acting as the key liaison in month end processes and subsequent sign off.
In order to be considered for this role, you must be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACMA / ACCA) with post-qualified experience and advanced Excel skills (ideally VBA). Experience of Financial Analysis is essential and FMCG or retail experience is highly desirable.
