Our internationally renowned hospitality client is recruiting a Management Accountant, reporting to the Finance Director and managing a small team, looking after all aspects of finance for the group based in the West End. The successful candidate will be manage 3 direct reports and be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of the monthly management accounts pack and the completion of all associated tasks and processes.
This is a high profile role with real influence and will involve proactively supporting the Financial Director in driving improvements in the monthly reporting process and mentoring 3 direct reports. The ideal candidate will be capable of stepping up to Financial Controller for the business in 12 to 24 months.
Key tasks and accountabilities will include: preparation of monthly management accounts, completion of month end processes in line with group reporting timetables and policies, writing a management accounts commentary (includes explaining significant variance to budget and explaining key items within financial statements), supporting the preparation of annual budget and monthly forecast process, assist in preparation of VAT returns and statutory financial statements and liaising with other key contacts and stakeholders.
We are looking for a candidate who is qualified or close to completing an accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) (study support would be available). This is a hands-on role that is suited to a bright, ambitious candidate who is willing to work autonomously and use their initiative. This is a key position within the finance team and the successful candidate will take on a lot of responsibility; this calls for a confident and decisive candidate comfortable making decisions that will have a tangible impact on the business. Management accounting experience is essential. Experience using hospitality systems, Excel and knowledge of UK GAAP are all an advantage.
