Job Description

Due to the impending absence  of the Director of Finance & Corporate Resources they now require an Interim Finance Director for a period of about 12 months, who is available to start immediately.

The role reports to the CEO and manages a broad team of around 30 people  looking after all aspects of finance, property and facilities, management information and IT.    

This is a key member of the Executive Team, responsible for the design, delivery and monitoring of strategy as well as the day to day operation of the organisation.

In addition, the role provides key business partnering to the other Executive Team members, who, through the CEO, are accountable to the Board of  Trustees.  Consequently they are seeking a strategic thinker who can also get into the detail.

The role is responsible for all aspects of planning, control, stewardship and compliance in the context of the whole organisation as well as specific responsibilities for finance, property, facilities management, IT and management information.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team leader with emotional intelligence, passionate about performance delivery, whilst never losing sight of the aims of the organisation.

You will be a Board experienced Qualified Accountant, commercially astute and capable of operating at this level. You must be able to demonstrate career progression to date, used to managing multi-disciplinary teams and be an extremely competent communicator.

We are keen to encourage applicants from all backgrounds so previous experience in the charity sector is not essential but an interest in and understanding of the work and relevant legislation would be an advantage.
